The Academic Expansion of Battle Ground Middle School consists of more than 40,000 square feet of new academic space and approximately 22,500 square feet of renovations.

Identically configured building additions were connected to the ends of the school's three existing classroom wings. Each 11,903 square foot addition features a large science classroom with an adjacent prep room; a collaboration room; five general purpose classrooms; and two storage rooms (one large and one small).

A fourth, smaller addition (4,360 square feet) with its own distinct footprint was constructed on the south side of the building to expand space dedicated for students in the 'Essential Skills' program. This addition includes a general purpose classroom; two activity rooms; a storage room; and a separate, dedicated secure entrance for students and staff. Renovated space (2,468 square feet) in this area provides for two additional classrooms; a staff office; a conference room; and handicap accessible restrooms.
